SPORTThe origins of the club date back to the 1950s. In 1950, the Związkowiec Sports Club entered the Lower Silesian Regional League, with riders such as Edward Kupczyński, Mieczysław Połukard and Adolf Słaboń. Before the next season, the Polish speedway league underwent a major reorganisation. The league was to be joined by sports associations of trade unions and additionally representatives of the army and militia.
30 December 2010 – we start a partnership with the club. The main driving forces behind this were a passion for sport and a desire to invest in the development of the cultural and sporting offer for the local community. We gradually increased our involvement to become a naming rights sponsor. To this day, together with the Management Board, we invest in the development, sporting achievements and entertainment offer of the city.
In 2015, the team won its first medal in the history of our partnership. We won silver, and have won it three more times since then. We have won a total of 4 medals in the Polish Team Championships, 6 medals in the Polish Individual Championships and three gold medals in the Polish Club Pairs Championships.
One of the milestones of our partnership was Betard's involvement in modernising the club's infrastructure by supporting the expansion of the western stand of the Olympic Stadium. The supplied concrete prefabricated elements form the structure of the new part of the stadium, which is widely regarded as one of the most modern and elegant sports arenas in the country
In 2019, after a 20-year break, the Olympic Stadium once again hosted the Individual Speedway World Championship. The event, considered the most prestigious in world speedway, was officially titled the 2019 Betard Wrocław FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland and received support from our company. After an extremely exciting competition, the Wrocław event was described by experts as the best competition in the series.
We got it! After waiting for 15 years, Betard Sparta Wrocław wins the gold medal and becomes the 2021 Polish Team Champion. This is the club's fifth championship in history, but none of the riders, except for Maciej Janowski, had previously won a gold medal in these competitions. It is also the first championship in the history of the club's partnership with Betard.
Since 2015, Betard Sparta Wrocław has regularly advanced to the play-off phase, winning a silver or bronze medal. In 2021, after fifteen years, the club reached for the coveted gold. In total, since the beginning of cooperation with Betard, the team has won eight medals in the Polish Team Championships.
