L-19 Lintels

L-19 lintel beams are prefabricated L-shaped reinforced concrete beams with a height of 19 cm and a bottom footing width of 9 cm. The elements are available in different lengths - from 90 cm to 360* cm (see table). Manufactured from concrete of class C20/25, they are designed for incorporation into external and internal load-bearing walls and curtain walling unencumbered by the ceiling. Each lintel usually consists of two prefabricated 'L19-Nn' beams and a monolithic section, made on site. The fire resistance of the elements is REI-60 - they can be used in buildings with the fire resistance of class C structures.

*The actual lengths of the beams are 1 cm less than the modular dimensions.

Installation of lintel beams

Lintel beams are installed at the same time as the walls are erected. On a levelled and aligned surface, we lay two lintel beams with the length corresponding to the width of the opening (taking the depth of the support into account), with the lower shelves facing inwards. The inner space between the beams is additionally reinforced (if required by the project) and filled with C 20/25 concrete. We then make the wall over the opening, lay the ceiling and concrete the tie beam.

Lintel beams with a length of 2.10 m and longer, on which the floor slabs rest, require additional assembly supports. The supports are positioned under the mounting brackets. Lintels over window openings in load-bearing walls are often installed directly under the ceiling.

If necessary, after the beams have been laid and supported, the designed reinforcement of the monolithic part of the lintel should be carried out, followed by the laying of the prefabricated floor and the reinforcement of the tie beam. Only then can the inner part of the lintel be concreted together with the tie beam. Stresses can be removed from under the lintels after 7 days at the earliest, after the concrete has set.
