Trimmer beam

Prestressed trimmer beams are structural elements equipped with brackets to provide support for other load-bearing elements of the roof, such as girders. Trimmer beams increase the building’s functionality by almost doubling the spacing of the internal columns.

Production process of Trimmer beam

Prestressed elements can be produced in two ways. Depending on the needs, we use technology that ensures production speed and economic efficiency, with lower consumption of ribbed steel. In the first method, we lay out the complete reinforcement of the element on special production lines designed for producing prestressed elements, through which the prestressing tendons are passed using specialized machines. Then, all tendons are subjected to initial and final tensioning. This process is followed by formwork and concreting of the element. The second method involves laying out the reinforcement components on the production line, through which the tendons are passed. This is followed by pre-tensioning and tensioning to the target force. After this, the final stage of production of the reinforcements is done on the production table, followed by formwork and concreting.

Production capabilities of Trimmer beam

The elements can be equipped with steel anchoring plates and the necessary accessories for connection to other structural elements. Due to their function, trimmer beams are manufactured with brackets on one or two sides, which are used for installing roof girders on them.

Design capabilities of Trimmer beam

The range of cross-section dimensions is tailored to the individual design. The span of prestressed elements is generally from 12 to 36 m (larger values are possible, depending on the needs of the project). Prestressed trimmer beams are usually designed using concrete grade C50/60 or higher.

Transport of Trimmer beam

Like other beam elements, trimmer beams are transported in the installation position. Due to their span, they are usually transported on so-called stretch trailers. Depending on the weight of the element, several prefabricated elements can be transported when carefully and evenly placed on the loading surface.
