Description
Being a concrete prefabricate manufacturer, we have had the pleasure to contribute to the construction of a modern logistical hub for DSV, one of the largest projects of its type in the region. DSV was the project owner, with Atlas Ward as the general contractor. Our contribution was to ensure comprehensive production and delivery of prefabricated elements, which were manufactured in five of our production plants at the same time; a feat which required perfect organisation and synchronisation of production runs and shipping between the plants.
This project was special not just because of the scale; cross-border deliveries had to be fulfilled, and the engineering solutions required were challenging, with specially designed matrices to make cavity walls. We delivered more than 2700 prefabricated elements in total!
Detailed breakdown of prefabricated elements delivered:
- 361 columns
- 337 reinforced concrete beams
- 127 solid walls
- 697 cavity walls (of which 682 units were matrix-cast)
- 286 cavity base walls
- 143 stair flights and landings
- 162 prestressed beams
- 667 prestressed purlins
Of special note is the application of custom-made casting matrices from RECKLI. The matrices were ganged into large modules, with the largest measuring an impressive of 7.4 m by 2.5 m. The corrugated-texture matrices ensured a unique finished appearance, providing a one-of-a-kind look of the completed building. This project required maximum precision, attention to detail, and high manufacturing culture from us.
Operating the production across multiple plants and coordination of deliveries to the foreign destination proved to be no small logistical challenge. With the commitment of our teams and good cooperation with the general contractor, all stages of the project were successfully completed, on schedule, and in line with stringent engineering requirements. This project is our proof that experience, professionalism and flexibility of the team can help successfully deliver even the most complex projects.
