Description of execution
The centrepiece of this unique interior design, which allows for open-air church services, is a stone altar on the slope of a small hill. Slightly rounded concrete treads, also made by us, lead up to it. Similar solutions were used for the surrounding seating, as well as the edging and stairs around the characteristic, circular square with benches for the worshippers.
The use of treads in individual zones, made in dozens of different geometries (each based on a different mould dimension), demonstrates the flexibility of prefabricated elements, the dimensions and shapes of which can be precisely adapted to the design requirements of a particular project. In Toszek, the creative potential of prefabricated elements is also exemplified by the characteristic pillars with grooves that serve as successive Stations of the Cross, as well as concrete plinths for sculptures set up in the vicinity of the altar.
The whole project brings an attractive breath of freshness to the surroundings, which contrasts unobtrusively with the existing old buildings.
We produced and delivered:
- 14 pillars 3-4 metres high – with grooves in which mini-sculptures have been installed, that together with the pillar, constitute the successive Stations of the Cross.
- 5 sculpture pedestals
- 32 transoms
- 161 treads
- non-standard benches made of prefabricated curved elements
