Description of execution
As part of the city's investment project: ‘Construction of the Western Axis in Wrocław along national road No. 94’, we had the opportunity to supply prefabricated bridge beams for the construction of a road viaduct along Aleja Stabłowicka.
The construction of the Western Axis is one of the key investments for Wrocław, which aims to solve the eternal problem of traffic jams on the national road No. 94 towards Leśnica.
The project is being carried out on the order of the City of Wrocław, and our Customer was Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Inżynieryjnych KBI.
We produced and delivered 144 pre-stressed T-beams of different lengths (18, 21, 24 and 27 metres) for the General Contractor. The prefabricated elements were used to build an important section of the route, a 143-metre road viaduct over the railway tracks. This will enable traffic to flow smoothly without the need to stop at the barriers. Building viaducts over railway tracks where train traffic cannot be shut down is a complicated undertaking – assembly was required at certain times at night, when train traffic was halted.
‘Together with KBI, we had the opportunity to create the infrastructure of our city together. We get particularly satisfied from projects that develop the infrastructure we use every day and make our city more and more liveable and workable. Thanks to the merger with Sibet, a former Kielce-based company, we were able to produce beams much closer to their final place of installation. Thanks to such measures, we take care of our common good by reducing the amount of diesel fuel burned during transport’. Wojciech Ruman, Project Manager, Betard.
