Description of execution
Work is underway on the construction of the A18 motorway on the Olszyna-Golnice section. As part of our partnership, we have produced prefabricated elements for the construction of three wildlife crossings and a motorway bridge.
The project was divided into 4 sections. The prefabricated structures are located in the second section, at the following kilometres: wildlife crossings: 14+000 km, 19+000 km, 31+075 km; motorway bridge: 31+471.43 km.
For the construction of the wildlife crossings, we produced and delivered 148 edge beams and 74 centre beams as well as 1,776 end plates. All components have a rather unusual geometry: each prefabricated element is in the shape of a curved beam with an internal trough, which required the preparation of complex spatial forms with very high accuracy. The steel moulds were made in our plant, cut with CNC machines, bent and finally welded.
The weight of each element was between 35 and 40 tonnes, and the length of the elements reached nearly 20 metres. Our prefabricated elements had to meet the very high quality and durability requirements set for the construction of the building.
The buildings are indirectly founded on prefabricated piles that we supplied and installed. The piles were manufactured in lengths of several to more than ten metres and a cross-section of 40×40 cm. A total of almost 2,000 piles with a total length of around 20,000 metres were installed under the wildlife crossings.
The project also included the supply of a supporting structure for a motorway bridge. Twenty-one prefabricated bridge beams of the Kujan 12 type, 11.64 m long and 48 cm high, were made.
