Description of execution
The project included the production and delivery of prefabricated elements for the supporting structure of the Municipal Stadium in Opole, with a capacity of 11,600 seats. It is the first building of this size in the Opolskie province.
The investor was the City of Opole, and the contractor for the City was the Municipal Plant in Opole.
The General Contractor was MIRBUD S.A. The renowned Design Studio 90Architekci was responsible for the architectural design and created the architectural concept of the stadium.
As part of our partnership in this project, we produced and delivered more than 2,000 prefabricated elements that made up the main supporting structure of the stadium:
- columns,
- toothed beams
- auditorium slabs (stands),
- treads,
- solid walls,
- reinforced concrete beams,
- stair flights,
- prestressed hollow core units.
Some of the unusual elements manufactured were poles with diagonal brackets deviating from the axis by 67.5°, located in the corners of the stadium, and poles with brackets with shelves over a metre long. The largest cross-section of the columns was 50×100 cm, and the longest column was over 17 m. The perimeter beams, under-ceiling beams and toothed beams, which support the stands on which the seats and treads will be mounted, were supported on the columns. Two types of stands were designed: L-shaped stands for the lowest and highest rows, and toothed stands for the intermediate rows. All of them were made with cross slopes to ensure proper rainwater drainage.
In the production process of the stadium elements, we used high-quality concrete (C35/45, C45/55), Portland multi-component slag-lime cement enriched with granite aggregates. This specially selected formula guarantees excellent resistance to abrasion and weather conditions, especially frost. As a result, the building meets the highest standards of durability and strength.
