Description of execution
In Krępice near Wrocław, we participated in the expansion of a production hall with social and office facilities. Our customer was PFEIFER, one of the leading companies providing solutions for modern construction.
For the purposes of the investment, we delivered reinforced concrete columns, single- and three-layer walls, stair flights and landings, as well as prestressed hollow core units. Due to the dimensions of the elements, including mainly walls up to 4.2 m high, specialised vehicles were used to transport the oversized elements, including self-loading semi-trailers with a low load platform.
The three-layer walls made with the use of washed concrete technology are worth mentioning. This technology involves the use of special admixtures, surface chemistry, concrete maturation retardants, and in the next production stage, the removal of the top layer of concrete with pressurised water. This method allows for an interesting architectural finish, in the form of visible aggregates used in the production of the walls. Basalt and granite aggregates were used in the production of the walls.
Below is a statement from the Investor about the investment with the use of our company's prefabricated elements:
The building with a usable area of 800 m² was constructed in just 4 weeks, which was possible thanks to the use of prefabrication technology. Already in the design phase, a number of solutions were taken into account to facilitate assembly and shorten the investment's completion time.
The hall was built using prefabricated staircases and platforms, ready-made three-layer walls with insulation and complete ducts for electrical systems, and technical blinds. Thanks to prefabrication, it was also possible to achieve the desired aesthetic effect – the curtain walls were made using exposed aggregate concrete.
We used a number of our own solutions in the implementation, such as TSS connectors for staircases, PCC column supports, anchor rails, DB anchors, brands, mounting and protective angles, VS reinforcement connectors, elastomer washers, transport hooks, dowels, replacements, FLA sandwich wall anchors or PH reinforcement connectors.
The assembly and transport of the 4.2-metre-high walls, each weighing approx. 17 tonnes, was a real challenge. The experience of the companies involved in the project and the reliability of our assembly connectors helped.
PFEIFER Hybridbeam® together with prestressed hollow core slabs were used in the floor construction. The lightweight floor construction without protruding beams allows the cubic capacity of the building to be fully utilised. It was easy to run the systems and achieve the structural height in the industrial part. The installation did not require the use of mounting supports and sped up the process of finishing the interior of the building.
